Bookmarks/Favourites
- Bookmarks or Favourites allow you to save a website address so that you can return later with just a single mouse click. 'Favourites' is Microsoft's (Internet Explorer) name for this feature - if you use the Chrome, Firefox or Safari browsers this feature will be called 'Bookmarks' - but it is exactly the same thing. Here are some brief instructions:
First of all make sure you are viewing the exact page you wish to return to.
If you are using Internet Explorer, in the menu across the top of the screen click on “Favourites” and then “Add to favourites …”in the drop down menu.
A new window will then open and you simply click on the “Add” button, but you can simplify the Name first if you wish. Leave "Create in" unaltered if you are new to using favourites.
The next time you click on “Favorites” you should see the website added to the bottom of the list. Clicking on its name will take you straight back to your chosen page.
If you have Windows 10 you are probably using the Edge browser rather than Internet Explorer. The process of adding favourites is the same except that Edge uses symbols rather than text menu items:
If you are using Firefox, Safari or Chrome as your browser, the procedure is generally similar to Edge/Internet Explorer except that you chose “Bookmarks” rather than “Favorites” from the menu.
